I was talking with a parent at the park drop-off, and off he ran as he often does with transitions into sessions. I couldn’t quite make out what his destination was this time.
Lots of slush and an open field past the volleyball courts were all my eyes could see. And then I saw them. Spring’s first Canadian geese had arrived. Irresistible to this animal lover!
I know this modern world can be hard for kids with ADHD. Sitting and focusing do not come naturally. Part of what we do as OTs is finding ways to make that easier and more natural for him.
But I also want him to know that his wiring brought a gift to my day.
